CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-142 <br />A RESOLUTION REVISING THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />GENERAL PLAN CIRCULATION ELEMENT FOR THE AREA <br />BOUNDED BY HOPYARD ROAD, HIGHWAY 580, TASSAJARA <br />ROAD AND THE EXTENSION OF WEST LAS POSITAS BOUL- <br />EVARD BETWEEN HOPYARD ROAD AND SANTA RITA ROAD <br />WHEREAS, at the time that the City Council adopted the General <br />Plan on February 9, 1976, Council asked the Staff to <br />form an ad hoc committee composed of Staff members <br />and concerned citizens to look at the circulation pattern <br />in the area bounded by Hopyard Road, Highway 580, Tassajara <br />Road and the extension of West Las Positas Boulevard <br />between Hopyard Road and Santa Rita Road; and <br />WHEREAS, an ad hoc committee composed of Planning, Engineering <br />Staff, the Assistant City Manager and representatives of <br />the residence of the Val Vista and the Pleasanton Meadows' <br />Tract met on three separate occasions over a two month <br />period; and <br />WHEREAS, recommendations of said ad hoc committee were presented <br />to the Planning Commission at its meeting of May 12, 1976; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission after conducting a public hearing <br />adopted Resolution No. 14-11 (A Resolution Of The Planning <br />Commission Of The City Of Pleasanton Recommending To The <br />City Council The Adoption Of GP-76-2) wherein the Planning <br />Commission made three recommendations to the City Council <br />regarding circulation and policy. statements, regarding <br />direct access to Hopyard Road between West Las Positas <br />Boulevard and Highway 580, and the channelization of future <br />land use traffic in the study area to be channeled directly <br />north to utilize a proposed frontage road parallel to I-580; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 14, 1976 the City Council received <br />a report from the Director of Planning of June 7, 1976 <br />which were attached a Staff report to the Planning Commission <br />of April 14, 1976, the minutes of the Planning Commssion <br />meeting of May 12, 1976 regarding the General Plan amend- <br />ment and the copy of Resolution No. 14-11; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing at which <br />time all members of the public were allowed an opportunity <br />to speak on this matter; and <br />
