CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-169 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF EMERGENCY <br />AMBULANCE SERVICE PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH ALAMEDA <br />COUNTY AND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton since 1972 has participated in <br />a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement with the City of <br />Livermore and Alameda County for the purpose of pro- <br />viding emergency ambulance service in the Livermore- <br />Amador Valley; and <br />WHEREAS, the subsidy payments required of the three agencies of <br />the JPA have continually increased over the years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agency hired a consultant to evaluate <br />the emergency ambulance service needs in the Valley <br />and to make recommendations and suggestions with re- <br />spect to the most efficient and economical means for <br />providing emergency ambulance service; and <br />WHEREAS, the consultant's recommendations indicated that the <br />most efficient and economical manner of providing <br />emergency ambulance service would be through a con- <br />tractual arrangement with the County of Alameda, who <br />would be responsible for coordinating emergency ambu- <br />lance service in the County; and <br />WHEREAS, studies of this particular arrangement have been under- <br />taken by the JPA and a proposed emergency ambulance <br />service program agreement has been submitted to the <br />cities of Pleasanton and Livermore by Alameda County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of July 12, 1976 con- <br />sidered a report of June 30, 1976 from the City Manager, <br />with reference to emergency ambulance services together <br />with a copy of the proposed emergency ambulance service <br />agreement with Alameda County; and <br />-1- <br />
