CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-167 <br />A RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPEAL OF DOUGLAS <br />SAFRENO FROM AN ADVERSE DECISION OF THE PLAN- <br />NING COMMISSION IN REGARD TO ZONING APPLICA- <br />TION 75-12 <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Douglas Safreno owns two (2) parcels of land <br />located south and east of the intersection of First <br />Street and Vineyard Avenue in the City of Pleasanton; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Safreno submitted an application to the Planning <br />Division of the Department of Community Development <br />to rezone said parcels from multiple residential to <br />commercial freeway zoning; and <br />WHEREAS, said request was considered by the Planning Commission <br />of the City of Pleasanton as case RZ-75-12 on October 8, <br />1975; and <br />WHEREAS, after holding a public hearing at which all members of <br />the public were allowed to speak, including the appli- <br />cant and his representatives, the Planning Commission <br />voted to deny the requested rezoning on the grounds <br />that they felt additional commercial zoning should not <br />be allowed east of First Street and that approval of <br />the application would be a continuance of spot-zoning <br />in this area; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Safrena appealed the decision of the Planning <br />Commission to the City Council on November 24, 1975; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at the applicant's request this matter was continued <br />to the City Council meeting of May 24, 1976, at which <br />time the public hearing was opened and continued again <br />to July 12, 1976; and <br />-1- <br />
