CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-197 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE SUNOL-VCSD <br /> INTERCEPTOR, TO BE DESIGNED AND BUILT UNDER <br /> PROJECT ALTERNATIVE 2-B, SHOULD BE LIMITED TO <br /> THE GRANT FUNDABLE CAPACITY OF SAID INTERCEPTOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has previously designated Alternative <br /> 2-B (the construction of an interceptor line from the <br /> Sunol Sewage Treatment Plant to the VCSD Sewage Treat- <br /> ment Plant) as one of two most feasible projects by <br /> which the Sunol Sewage Treatment Plant can be phased <br /> <br /> out into a more modern sewage treatment facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of California and the Environment Protection <br /> Agency, on behalf of the Federal Government, will fund <br /> 87-1/2% of the eligible project cost; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State has determined that the grant fundable ca- <br /> pacity for said interceptor is 1.90 million gallons <br /> per day, average dry weather flow.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the above capacity, exclusive of the fairgrounds, amounts <br /> to 1.69 million gallons per day which would allow approxi- <br /> mately 790,000 gallons per day as the available capacity <br /> for construction in the Sunol area for the next twenty- <br /> two years (22); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said 790,000 gallons per day of sewage capacity amounts <br /> to approximately 2,821 single family dwelling unit <br /> equivalent sewer connections or approximately 128 dwell- <br /> ing unit equivalent connections per year on a straight <br /> line basis for the next twenty-two years in the Sunol <br /> area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has requested to determine whether or <br /> not the City should buy additional capacity in the inter- <br /> ceptor line in addition to that which is grant fundable; <br /> and <br /> <br /> <br />
