WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-239 <br /> <br /> in the probability of fire and the <br /> <br /> cupants in the event a fire occurs; <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Department of the City of <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 169 <br />SMOKEGUARD 800A SMOKE DETECTORS FOR KOMANDORSKI <br />VILLAGE <br /> <br />the Pleasanton Housing Authority administers a hous- <br />ing project in the Camp Parks area known as Koman- <br />dorski Village; and <br />the Pleasanton Housing Authority contracts with the <br />City of Pleasanton to provide fire protection to the <br />169 dwelling units at Komandorski Village for payment <br />of $4,800.00 per year for said protection; and <br />the structures that compose Komandorski Village are <br />old, World War II building~ that pose a high risk both <br /> <br /> safety of the oc- <br /> <br /> and <br /> <br /> Pleasanton has de- <br />termined that early warning devices (smoke detectors) <br />should be installed at Komandorski Village to reduce <br />the risk to the families living in the buildings and <br />to provide a greater degree of fire protection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Housing Authority does not presently have funds <br /> available to purchase and install the smoke detectors <br /> necessary to provide protection at the occupied dwell- <br /> ings in Komandorski Village; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council initially agreed to contribute fifty <br /> percent of the annual contract payment toward the ac- <br /> quisition of and installation of smoke detectors at <br /> Komandorski Village; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council received a staff report of September 29, <br /> 1976, recommending the purchase of 169 smoke detectors <br /> for installation at Komandorski Village at a cost of <br /> $5,714.52, and that the cost be credited as a City con- <br /> tribution against the annual $4,800.00 payment for the <br /> next three years; and <br /> <br /> <br />
