WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WtiEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAmeDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-272 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDITIONAL ~NPOWER FOR THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND AMENDING SAID <br />DEPART~[NT'S BUDGET ACCORDINGLY <br /> <br /> the Department of Public Safety was formally approved by <br /> the City Council at its meeting of January 26, 1976 by <br /> the adoption of Resolution No. 76-19 (A Resolution <br /> Relating to the Establishment of a Public Safety Depart- <br /> ment in the City of Pleasanton); and <br /> the City Council has been appraised of the need for addi- <br /> tional personnel in the police and fire divisions of <br /> said department; and <br /> the City Council was advised at its meeting of <br /> <br /> 1976 that due to increases in assessed valuation and sales <br /> tax revenue some $93,478 in additional monies were <br /> available; and <br /> the City Council directed the City Manager to provide <br /> the City Council with a report regarding the alternative <br /> uses which could be made of said money in the Department <br /> of Public Safety; and <br /> the City Manager and his staff investigated various <br /> alternatives for use of said monies; and <br /> meetings were held with representatives of the Inter- <br /> national Association of Fire Fighters Local 1974 and <br /> representatives of the police officers during the course <br /> of determining the variou~ alternatives; and <br /> these meetings were intended by the City Manager and <br /> Director of Public Safety (both of whom attended most <br /> of the meetings either separately or together) to obtain! <br /> imput from the public safety personnel and to explain <br /> the alternatives being devised; and <br /> <br />WHEREASs various written reports dated November 1, 1976, entitled <br /> I~Department of Public Safety, Fire Division, Additional <br /> <br /> <br />
