WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-264 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT FOR APPROX- <br /> IMATELY 6.5 ACRES OF PROPERTY LOCATED IMMEDIATELY EAST <br /> OF SUNOL BOULEVARD ON BOTH SIDES OF SONOMA DRIVE FROM <br /> PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL TO GENERAL AND LIMITED INDUSTRIAL <br /> <br /> the 1968 General Plan identified the property in question <br /> as "Limited Industrial"; and <br /> at the time of the adoption of Resolution No. 76-27 <br /> (A Resolution Adopting A Revised General Plan) on <br /> February 9, 1976 the property in question was designated <br /> as "Public and Institutional" due to the proximity of <br /> the subject property to residential area; and <br /> the City Staff has recently been approached by a devel- <br /> oper who wishes to locate on a portion of the property <br /> a research and development electronic assembly type <br /> industry which would be housed in an office appearing <br /> building as opposed to an industrial building, said <br /> <br /> use would employ no outside storage of materials; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff recommended the approval of a request <br /> <br /> for a general plan amendment to the Planning Commission <br /> on the basis that the proposed use would set the stand- <br /> ard for the development of the balance of the area <br /> should it be designated on the General Plan as "General <br /> and Limited Industrial"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its meeting of November 10, <br /> 1976 recommended approval of the general plan amendment <br /> (GP-76-5); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of November 22, 1976 <br /> held a public hearing in conjunction with said request <br /> to change general plan designation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during said public hearing the applicant and any <br /> interested member of the public was offered an opportun- <br /> ity to speak to the City Council; and <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
