..~thorizes purchase of emer_ ncy stand-by equipment <br />and piping for possible tying into water system, <br />and if allowed use, of San Francisco Well Field (F) <br />water to supplement City wells in case of emergency. <br /> <br />Reduce irrigation to landscape areas and parks. <br /> <br />Continue prompt response in repairing all leaks and <br />repairing broken off fire hydrants due to accidents. <br />Establish closer cooperation by Fire Division per- <br />sonnel in turning Off hydrant valves to avoid un- <br />necessary waste of water. <br /> <br />Reduce as much as possible dead-end water main blow- <br />off program while still meeting State Health Depart- <br />ment Standards. <br /> <br />7. Eliminate routine fire hydrant flow testing by Fire <br /> Division. <br /> <br />8. Curtail,to a minimum, Fire Division training using <br /> pumpers and large quantities of water. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorizes Councilmember Herlihy, with staff as- <br /> sistance, to meet with Zone 7 in order to negotiate <br /> amendments to the existing contract between the Alameda <br /> County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and <br /> Pleasanton Township County Water District and the City <br /> of Pleasanton for a treated water supply in order to <br /> allow the City to use water from its wells as necessary. <br /> <br />Section 3. Authorizes the City Staff to negotiate with the San <br /> Francisco Water Department for use of the San Francisco <br /> well fields in case of an emergency. <br /> <br />Section 4. Authorizes an amendment to the Engineering Division <br /> of the Department of Community Development's budget of <br /> $2,500 for additional engineering studies to determine <br /> the feasibility of tying the San Francisco well fields <br /> into the City's water system. Said $2,500 to come from <br /> the unaltocated reserve. <br /> <br />Section 5.
