CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-43 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM <br />FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of California is experiencing a serious water <br /> shortage due to continuation of a drought situation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to City Council direction the Assistant City <br />Manager prepared a memorandum of February 8, 1977 with <br />attachments relating to a study of water conservation; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at its meeting of February 14, 1977 <br />considered the report by the Assistant City Manager <br />together with a mailgram from Edmund G. Brown, Jr., <br />Governor of California, relating to water conservation. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes the City Staff to undertake the following <br /> water conservation measures: <br /> <br />Prepare a water conservation handout available at <br />the water billing counter and elsewhere for distri- <br />bution to the general public. <br /> <br />2. Adopts the following water conservation suggestions <br /> of Zone 7: <br /> <br />(a) Improve Water Habits <br /> <br />(1) Fix leaks <br />(2) Turn off faucet while shaving, brushing <br /> teeth, or "soaping up" <br />(3) Put drinking water in refrigerator <br />(4) Rinse dishes in tub rather than running <br /> water <br /> <br />(b) Place plastic bottle or water dam in toilet <br /> reservoir <br /> <br />Place flow restrictor in zhower headz <br /> <br />(d) Use faucet Aerators <br /> <br />(e) Landscape with native plants <br /> <br />(f) Use automatic sprinkler shut-offs <br /> <br />(g) Use injection-type watering <br /> <br /> <br />
