CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-154 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSIST- <br />ANCE UNDER SECTION 701 OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1954. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton, recognizing the problems and <br />issues identified in the attached Application for <br />Comprehensive Planning Assistance, desires to provide <br />for a planning study contributing to improved executive <br />planning, decision-making, and management capability; <br />to the encouragement of community planning and manage- <br />ment as a continuous process; and to the solution of <br />problems, realization of opportunities and the formula- <br />tion, and implementation of policies related to community <br />development and growth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has developed an Overall Program <br />Design and recommended the development of an organiza- <br />tional structure as outlined in the attached Application <br />to deal with these development problems and issues; and, <br />the California State Office of Planning Research, under <br />authority of the Government Code of the State of <br />California (Section 34200) may provide planning assis- <br />tance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development, as authorized by Section 701 of the Housing <br />Act of 1954, as amended; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby <br /> requests the Office of Planning and Research to provide <br /> planning assistance under the authority of the Govern- <br /> ment Code of the State of California, with such financial <br /> assistance as may be provided by the U.S. Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development, under authority of Sec- <br /> tion 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended. Such <br /> planning assistance is more particularly described in <br /> a project description that is attached hereto and made <br /> a part of this resolution as if fully set forth herein. <br /> <br />Section 2o That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton, sub- <br /> ject to approval of such planning assistance by the <br /> State and Federal authorities, hereby authorizes the <br /> use of personnel of the City of Pleasan.ton for services <br /> and/or other expenditures of funds toward the accom- <br /> plishment of this project which will have a net esti- <br /> mated cost to the City of Pleasanton of $7,500. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
