MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> between <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> and <br />OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL UNION NO. 3 <br /> <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the provisions <br />of Sections 3500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California. <br /> <br /> The Employee Relations Officer (City Manager) is the representative of <br />the City of Pleasanton in employer-employee relations matters. <br /> <br /> Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 is the formally recognized employee <br />organization for the classifications of Police Of'ricer and Police Sergeant. <br /> <br /> The parties have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, hours <br />and other terms and conditions of employment for the employees in said <br />representation unit, and have freely exchanged information, opinions and <br />proposals and have endeavored to reach agreement on all matters relating <br />to the employment conditions and employer-employee relations of such employees. <br /> <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented to the Pleasanton City <br />Council as the joint recommendation of the undersigned parties for salary and <br />employee benefit adjustments for the period commencing July 1, 1977 and ending <br />September 30, 1978. <br /> <br /> The existing wages, hours and conditions of employment shall be amended <br />only as follows: <br /> <br />I. Effective July 1, 1977, the City shall contribute an amount necessary to <br />provide hospital and medical care benefits under the present Blue Cross Plan <br />or Kaiser B Plan for the individual employee and a portion of the amount necessary <br />to provide coverage for eligible dependents; provided, however, that in no <br />event shall the City be obligated to contribute an amount in excess of <br />Sixty Dollars ($60.00) per month per employee to provide the aforesaid coverage. <br />Effective July 1, 1978, the maximum amount shall be increased to Sixty-six Dollars <br />($66.00) per month per employee. <br /> <br />2. Effective July 1, 1977, the City shall contribute an amount necessary to <br />provide dental care benefits under the present Bankers Life Nebraska Plan for <br />the individual employee and eligible dependents; provided, however, that in no <br />event shall. the City~e obligated to contribute an amount in excess of Fifteen <br />Dollars ($15.00) per month per employee to provide the aforesaid coverage. <br />Effective January 1, 1978 the maximum amount shall be increased to Nineteen Dollars <br />($19.00) per month per employee. <br /> <br />3. Effective January 1, 1978, an employee will be allowed to have an accumulation <br />of no more than two (2) years' vacation accrual to his credit at any one time. <br /> <br />4. Effective July 1, 1977, employees may be compensated for overtime worked <br />either by monetary payment or by compensatory time off, at the option of the <br />employee. Compensatory time off which accrues in excess of forty (40) hours <br />must be liquidated by monetary payment. All monetary payments for overtim~ <br />must be paid not later than the next bi-weekly payroll following the pay period <br />in which the overtime was worked. Utilization of compensatory time off shall <br />be by mutual agreement between the department head and the employee. <br /> <br /> <br />
