CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-211 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF CAPITAL EXPENDITURES IN 1977-78 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />during consideration of the 1977-78 Operating Budget on <br />July 11, 1977, the general subject of need for additional <br />City buildings was brought up as the possibility exists <br />to utilize surplus funds to construct one or more neces- <br />sary buildings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the discussion of building needs, at the Council meeting <br />of July 11, 1977, was prompted by a recommendation on the <br />disposition of surplus funds from 1976-77; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the recommendation relating to buildings was to purchase <br />Fire Station Two, add 1,800 square feet of Office space <br />to the existing City Hall and construct a separate Council <br />Chambers on the Civic Center site; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if implemented, these recommendations would avoid the <br /> necessity of annual lease payments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at their meeting of August 9, 1977, <br />received a report dated August 2, 1977, from Council- <br />members Brandes and Herlihy regarding Capital Expendi- <br />tures for 1977-78, said report attached hereto and <br />incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves capital expenditures in 1977-78 as follows: <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br /> <br />construct a new Police Building - $40,000; <br />Addition to City Hall and new Council Chambers <br />$240,000. <br /> <br />Section 2.
