Screening and landscaping: Sufficient and appro- <br />priate planting, screening and landscaping shall <br />be applied to all land uses where the potential <br />exists to detract from the character of the corri- <br />dors. <br /> <br />Height and bulk: Evaluation of structural scale <br />through Design Review shall consider building scale <br />appropriate to the corridors - in no case shall <br />structures be allowed blocking clearly significant <br />vistas. <br /> <br />Siting: Placement of structures shall be controlled <br />in order to reduce the impact of new structures on <br />existing significant vistas. <br /> <br />Land Use Controls <br />Those land use designations indicated on the Pleasanton <br />General Plan for the above defined corridors are deemed <br />appropriate and compatible with the nature of the corri- <br />dors and the intent and purposes of this program. All <br />proposals for general plan amendments and rezonings of <br />property within the corridors are to make specific re- <br />ference to and be consistent with the Scenic Highways <br />Element of the Pleasanton General Plan and this program. <br /> <br />Conditional use permit applications shall be reviewed <br />in an effort to insure that those conditional uses al- <br />lowed within designated areas are appropriate to scenic <br />corridors and the intent and purposes of this program. <br /> <br />Review procedures for proposed residential subdivisions <br />within designated corridors shall incorporate considera- <br />tions of impact on scenic quality. No subdivision shall <br />be approved unless it is in substantial conformity with <br />the Pleasanton General Plan, and the intent and purposes <br />of this program. <br /> <br />Intergovernmental Relations <br />Development proposals within scenic corridor segments <br />where only one-half of a corridor is within the juris- <br />diction of the City of Pleasanton shall be referred to <br />the agency responsible for regulation of development in <br />the opposite portion of the corridor. <br /> <br />Liaison with the State Department of Transportation will <br />be maintained to insure that state instigated protection <br />and enhancement activities are coordinated with local <br />efforts. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Staff is authorized and directed to prepare <br /> for Planning Commission and City Council consideration <br /> necessary ordinances and/or amendments to existing ordinances <br /> which will implement the policy statements of this resolution <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO077-230 <br />Page 2. <br /> <br /> <br />
