Screening and landscaping: Sufficient and appro- priate planting, screening and landscaping shall be applied to all land uses where the potential exists to detract from the character of the corri- dors. Height and bulk: Evaluation of structural scale through Design Review shall consider building scale appropriate to the corridors - in no case shall structures be allowed blocking clearly significant vistas. Siting: Placement of structures shall be controlled in order to reduce the impact of new structures on existing significant vistas. Land Use Controls Those land use designations indicated on the Pleasanton General Plan for the above defined corridors are deemed appropriate and compatible with the nature of the corri- dors and the intent and purposes of this program. All proposals for general plan amendments and rezonings of property within the corridors are to make specific re- ference to and be consistent with the Scenic Highways Element of the Pleasanton General Plan and this program. Conditional use permit applications shall be reviewed in an effort to insure that those conditional uses al- lowed within designated areas are appropriate to scenic corridors and the intent and purposes of this program. Review procedures for proposed residential subdivisions within designated corridors shall incorporate considera- tions of impact on scenic quality. No subdivision shall be approved unless it is in substantial conformity with the Pleasanton General Plan, and the intent and purposes of this program. Intergovernmental Relations Development proposals within scenic corridor segments where only one-half of a corridor is within the juris- diction of the City of Pleasanton shall be referred to the agency responsible for regulation of development in the opposite portion of the corridor. Liaison with the State Department of Transportation will be maintained to insure that state instigated protection and enhancement activities are coordinated with local efforts. Section 2. The City Staff is authorized and directed to prepare for Planning Commission and City Council consideration necessary ordinances and/or amendments to existing ordinances which will implement the policy statements of this resolution RESOLUTION NO077-230 Page 2.
