CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-243 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY SUB- <br />JECT TO A TAX SALE IN THE VAL VISTA AREA IN THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON (ALAMEDA COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR ACCOUNT <br />NO. 941-1302-2-19) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Alameda County Tax Collector has scheduled a public auction <br />for the sale of property that is more than five (5) years de- <br />linquent in property tax payments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has received a copy of the list of prop- <br />erties to be sold on October 28, 1977 at said public auction; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City is required to inform the County Tax Collector, prior <br />to September 26, 1977, if the City objects to the sale of any <br />of the property or the City desires to purchase any of the <br />property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />one of the parcels to be sold is a 13.85 acre parcel located <br />directly east of the V.C.S.D.'s sewage treatment plant and <br />north of Val Vista Park and bordered on the west and north by <br />a Zone 7 drainage canal, on the east by the Val Vista housing <br />development and Val Vista Park on the south; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />said property is shown on the City of Pleasanton 1976 General <br />Plan as public and institutional and is presently zoned <br />agricultural; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the County Tax Collector has set the minimum price for this <br />13.85 acre parcel of land at $18,500.00, although the County <br />Assessor has appraised the property at a market value of <br />$71,900.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 13.85 acre parcel has value to the City of Pleasanton for <br /> various uses including, but not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />1. Future expansion of Val Vista Park, <br />2. Future location for Fire Station #2, <br />3. Or as a reserve for possible water reclamation purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at its meeting of September 13, 1977 received <br />a report of September 7, 1977 from the City Manager regarding <br />the above matters. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Determines that the acquisition of a 13.85 acre parcel, more <br /> particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incor- <br /> porated herein by reference, would be for the public benefit <br /> and would be consistent with the General Plan of the City of <br /> Pleasanton as determined by the Planning Commission at its <br /> <br /> <br />
