CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-242 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL"S POSITION <br />REGARDING PACKAGE SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Planning Department has prepared a draft <br /> report on "Sewage Disposal Systems Policy Study"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />said report is to be considered by the Alameda County Plan- <br />ning Commission at its meeting of September 1~, 1977; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the alternatives set forth in the study are summarized as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A. Alternatives for Use of Small Treatment System <br /> <br />1. No change. Continue existing policies and <br /> regulations. <br /> <br />Limited use of small treatment systems in <br />existing development to correct a problem <br />where connection to existing system is not <br />cost effective. <br /> <br />Broad use of small treatment systems, both <br />for existing and new developments subject to <br />qualifications and conditions. <br /> <br />B. Alternatives for Use of Septic Tanks <br /> <br />No change. Continue existing policies and <br />regulations. <br /> <br />2. More restricted use of Septic Tanks. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council has an established policy regarding the <br />use of septic tanks but has not established a policy with <br />respect to the use of package treatment plants; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at its meeting of S~ptember 13, 1977 con- <br />sidered the adoption of a policy for use of package treatment <br />plants. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The policy of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> with respect to the use of package treatment plants is as <br /> follows: <br /> <br />1. Small treatment systems not be allowed for any <br /> new residential developments. <br /> <br /> <br />
