EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY PROGRAM - I.A.F.F. LOCAL 1974 <br /> <br />1. Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of this plan is to reward those eligible employees having <br />obtained a specific level of educational achievement and, in so doing, <br />have become better qualified to discharge the duties of their respec- <br />tive positions. <br /> <br />II. Eligible Applicants <br /> <br />Persons eligible to enroll in the Educational incentive Plan shall <br /> <br />have met all of the following requirements. <br /> <br /> Ao Are permanent (non-probationary) employees with the City of <br />Pleasanton. (Employees on probationary status as a result of promotions <br />shall be deemed eligible under this plan). <br /> <br /> B. Have met all requirements of their position as set forth in <br />the City's Classification Plan in effect at the time the employee was <br />hired. <br /> <br /> C. All new employees hired by the City after the date of adoption <br />by the City Council of this Educational Incentive Plan shall be eligible <br />for educational incentive pay for eligible degrees or college credits <br />earned prior to their date of employment at the time they reach the <br />top step of their classification's salary range. <br /> <br />III. Educational Standards Committee <br /> <br />An Educational Standards Committee comprised of the President of I.A.F.F. <br />Local 1974, Assistant to the City Manager, shall be established for <br />the purposes of: <br /> <br /> A. Determining the eligibility of each employee to enroll in <br />the Educational Incentive Program. <br /> <br /> <br />
