Page 2 <br />Resolution No. 77-343 <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council urges Governor Brown, the United States <br /> Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administra- <br /> tion, the California Department of Transportation, and the <br /> Business and Transportation Agency of the State of California, <br /> to remove the restrictions placed upon the use of all eight <br /> lanes of vehicular travel on the completed 1-580 between the <br /> City of Pleasanton and Palomares Canyon as set forth in the <br /> settlement agreement executed on May 29, 1975. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />3. The City Council supports the efforts of Senator John Holmdahl <br /> to remove the restrictions imposed by the settlement agreement <br /> executed on May 29, 1975 with the Sierra Club and urges the <br /> other elected officials from this area to support the removal <br /> of the aforementioned restrictions on the use of the recently <br /> completed portion of 1-580. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />4. The City Council authorizes the City staff to remain in <br /> contact with and work with other groups for the removal of <br /> the aforementioned restrictions in order to allow 1-580 to <br /> be a complete usable eight-lane freeway. <br /> <br />Section 5. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this resolu- <br /> tion to Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., State Senators John <br /> Nolmdahl, Nicholas Petris, and Alfred Alquist, Assemblymen <br /> Floyd Mori, Tom Bates, Bill Lockyer, John Miller, and Alister <br /> McAlister, the United States Department of Transportation, <br /> the Federal Highway Administration, the California Department <br /> of Transportation, and the Business and Transportation Agency _ <br /> of the State of California. <br /> <br />Section 6.
