CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-36 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A VETERANS' MEMORIAL <br />BUILDING ADVISORY COMMISSION IN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the County of Alameda and the City of Pleasanton entered <br />into an agreement on April 3, 1973 regarding the Veterans' <br />Memorial Building; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />by that agreement the City was appointed as the County's <br />agent to manage and operate the Veterans' Memorial Building <br />at 301 Main Street, City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City, in becoming the County's agent, agreed to estab- <br /> lish a Veterans' Memorial Building Advisory Commission. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Creation. The Veteran's Memorial Building Advisory Com- <br /> mission is hereby created. <br /> <br />Section 2. Membership. The Commission shall have seven (7) members. <br /> Six (6) of the members shall be representatives of the <br /> following Veterans' Association: <br /> <br />1 Veterans of Foreign War Post 6298 <br /> <br />2 Veterans of Foreign War Post 9968 <br /> <br />3 Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary Post 9968 <br /> <br />4 Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary Post 6298 <br /> <br />5 American Legion 606 <br /> <br />6 American Legion Post 237 <br /> <br />The seventh member shall be the Director of Recreation and <br />Human Resources of the City of Pleasanton. The Director <br />shall serve as the Secretary of the Commission. The City <br />Manager of the City of Pleasanton shall serve as an ex <br />officio member of the Commission. <br /> <br />Section 3. Appointment. Each of the organizations shall nominate a <br /> member to represent them on the Commission. The list of <br /> nominees shall be submitted to City Council for approval. <br /> Appointments shall be for a period of four (4) years. When <br /> a Commission member who represents one of the Veterans' <br /> organizations cannot complete his or her term of office for <br /> any reason, the organization that nominated that member <br /> shall nominate a replacement to complete that member's term <br /> of office.
