~IEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-27 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD TO <br />ALLOW THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO PROCEED IMMEDIATELY WITH <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED INTERCEPTOR SEWER <br /> <br />it has previously been determined that sewage disposal in the Livermore- <br />Amador Valley will be accomplished by pumping treated sewage from the <br />Valley through LAVWMA's pipeline to the East Bay Dischargers Authority <br />System and thence to the San Francisco Bay; and <br /> <br />the Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency has completed plans <br />and specifications for the aforementioned pipeline, has received bids <br />and will soon be selling bonds for the project and award the construc- <br />tion contract; and <br /> <br />approximately one-half of the sewage from the City is presently treated <br />by the Dublin-San Ramon Services District Treatment Plant and will be <br />disposed of through the LAVWMA project; and <br /> <br />approximately one-half of the sewage from the City is presently treated <br />by the City's Sunol Boulevard Treatment Plant and disposed of by irri- <br />gation; and <br /> <br />the City has paid and will be paying substantial sums for engineering, <br />land acquisition, construction and financing of the LAVWMA project, <br />based on the assumption that all of the City's ~ewage would be disposed <br />of by LAVWMA; and <br /> <br />it has been determined that the most cost effective method to handle <br />the City's sewage treatment would be by consolidation at the Dublin- <br />San Ramon Services District Treatment Plant to serve the area presently <br />served by the City's Sunol Boulevard Treatment Plant, build an inter- <br />ceptor sewer to convey raw sewage from the Sunol Boulevard Plant to the <br />Dublin-San Ramon Services District Plant and abandon the Sunol Boulevard <br />Plant; and <br /> <br />the State Water Resources Control Board has given concept approval for <br />the interceptor sewer and the City has caused plans and specifications <br />to be prepared; and <br /> <br />the State Water Resources Control Board has approved said plans and <br />specifications and City is prepared to ask for bids and to proceed <br />with construction of the interceptor; and <br /> <br />the Regional Water Quality Control Board has imposed a time schedule <br />on the City requiring that the interceptor be under construction by <br />June, 1978; and <br /> <br /> <br />
