CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-47 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SELECTING AS THE RAILROAD TRACK CONSOLIDATION <br />PROJECT THE WESTERN PACIFIC ALIGNMENT WITH SPECIFIC ELEMENTS, <br />MODIFICATIONS AND MITIGATION MEASURES, AND INCLUDING THE <br />CONNECTION OF DEL VALLE PARKWAY TO MAIN STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />~ER~S, <br /> <br />~ER~S, <br /> <br />~ER~S, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in 1978, a joint application was made to the Public Utilities <br />Commission by the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton and <br />Alameda County (serving as lead agency) to consolidate the <br />tracks of the Western Pacific and Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Companies; and <br /> <br />the application was reviewed and ranked by the Public Utili- <br />ties Commission (PUC): and <br /> <br />subsequent to receiving the PUC ranking, the consulting <br />engineering firm of DeLeuw, Cather and Company prepared <br />the necessary Environmental Impact Report; and <br /> <br />in January and February, 1979, the City Council held a series <br />of public meetings on the proposed project, and after a public <br />hearing on February 13, 1979, Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 79-17~ certifying that the Environmental Impact Report <br />for the Railroad Track Consolidation prepared by DeLeuw, <br />Cather and Company had been completed in compliance with <br />CEQA and State Guidelines and identifying significant <br />impacts; and <br /> <br />after the Council meeting of February 13, 1979, it was <br />determined that a separate EIR should be prepared on the <br />extension of the Del Valle Parkway which would be involved <br />in the Railroad Consolidation Project to meet the City's <br />agreement with Pleasanton Safe Streets Association (PSSA), <br />as one of the project alternatives would extend the <br />existing Del Valle Parkway to Main Street; and <br /> <br />a public hearing was held by the City Council on March 29, <br />1979, on the Final Environmental Impact Report of the Del <br />Valle Parkway Extension, at which time members of the staff <br />and the public were given an opportunity to present testi- <br />mony, both oral and documentary, and Council adopted <br />Resolution No. 79-46, certifying that the Environmental <br />Impact Report had been completed in compliance with CEQA <br />and State Guidelines and identifying significant impacts; <br />and <br /> <br />following the public hearing and adoption of Resolution <br />No. 79-46, at the Council meeting of March 29, 1979, a <br />hearing was then held on the Railroad Track Consolidation <br />Project, giving members of the public an opportunity to <br />present testimony and petitions related to the project; <br /> <br /> <br />
