CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-166 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING INITIATION <br />OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 78 PURSUANT <br />TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, <br />beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, an <br />affected city, as therein defined, may by resolution <br />adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an <br />"Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation <br />of proceedings thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an <br />annexation proposal which contains territory proposed <br />to be annexed as part of said City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SectiOn 1. This'City Council, as the legislative body of an affected <br /> city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation of Annexa- <br /> tion No. 78 pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of <br /> 1977 and does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such <br /> act. <br /> <br />Section 2. The annexation shall consist of the following change <br /> in organization: <br /> <br />that 253 acres, more or less, area adjacent <br />to the City's boundary on the north and east <br />along Bernal Avenue to the south and Freeway <br />680 to the west, shall be changed from unincor- <br />porated Alameda County lands to land within the <br />City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more <br />specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 3. This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons <br /> for proposing this annexation are: <br /> <br />This annexation and subsequent development of this <br />property when it occurs should meet the highest quality <br />expectations of the City.
