Resolution No. 00-016 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MTC requires, as part of the application a resolution stating the following: <br /> <br />1. the commitment of necessary local matching ~mds of at least 11.5%; and <br /> <br />that the sponsor understands that the Surface Transportation Program and <br />Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funding is <br />fixed at the programmed amount, and therefore, any cost increase cannot be <br />expected to be funded with Surface Transportation Program or Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funds; and <br /> <br />the assurance of the sponsor to complete the project as described in the <br />application, and if approved, as programmed in MTC's TIP; and <br /> <br />that the sponsor understands that funds must be obligated by September 30, <br />2002 for non-operating projects and by September 30, 2003 for operating <br />projects, or the project may be removed from the program. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />That the Pleasanton City Council authorizes the Director of Public Works to <br />execute and file an application for funding under the Surface Transportation <br />Program or the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program of <br />TEA21 in the amount of $223,000 for the 1-580 SMART Corridor, Phase II, <br />Project. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />That the Pleasanton City Council, by adopting this resolution does hereby state <br />that: <br /> <br />The Alameda Congestion Management Agency will provide $302,000 in <br />local matching funds from its Alameda County STP match funding; and <br /> <br /> <br />
