WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />WHEREAS <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />Ill <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-14 <br /> <br />RE: REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A HANDICAP RAMP FOR THE VETERAN'S <br />MEMORIAL BUILDING, PROJECT NO. 79-13 <br /> <br />the City prepared plans and specifications for the <br />construction of the handicap ramp for the Veteran's <br />Memorial Building, Project No. 79-13; and <br /> <br />purusant to Government Code #37900, et seq., the City <br />Engineering Services Department advertised for bids <br />regarding this project; and <br /> <br />at its meeting of January 8, 1980, the City Council <br />reviewed the bids received; and <br /> <br />the bid of Robles Concrete Company was the apparent <br />lowest bidder; and <br /> <br />Robbles Concrete Company's bid contained an error in <br />that the total was different than the extensions of <br />the unit prices in the bid; and <br /> <br />the bid specifications for the project provide: <br /> <br />"In case of discrepancy between the item and price <br />the total set forth for the item, the item price <br />shall prevail as follows: <br /> <br />The amount set forth in the ITEM PRICE col- <br />umn shall be multipied by the estimated <br />quantity for the item and the price thus <br />obtained shall be the total price and will <br />be used to correct the total bid figure." <br /> <br />the corrected bid from Robles Concrete Company would be <br />$4,075; and <br /> <br />Robles Concrete Company has indicated that it cannot do <br />the project for $4,075 but stands on its $5,200 bid; and <br /> <br />the City is authorized by Government Code §4200, and <br />following, to relieve a mistaken bidder from forfei- <br />ture of his bid bond; and <br /> <br />the Director of Public Works and Utilities in his report <br />dated January, 1980, recommended that the contract be <br />awarded to the next lowest bidder and that Robles Concrete <br />Company be permitted to withdraw its bid; <br /> <br /> <br />
