CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 80-54

A RESOLUTION INITIATING A DATE AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
ANNEXATION NO. 78, FROI~

WHEREAS,

WHEREAS,

WHEREAS,

pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, beginning with
Section 35000 of the Government Code, an affected city, as therein
defined, may by resolution adopted by its legislative body, make a
proposal for an "Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation
of proceedings thereon; and

by Resolution No. 79-166, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton
made application to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda
County (LAFCO) requesting initiation of proceedings to annex that
certain uninhabited territory designated as Annexation No. 78, to the
City of Pleasanton, which territory is more specifically described in
Exhibit A, attached hereto, and incorporated herein by reference; and

the City Council has declared its reasons for proposing this annexa-
tion as being the following:

This annexation and subsequent development of this property,
when it occurs, should meet the highest quality expectations
of the City. As a major entrance to the City, it is important
that development along Bernal Avenue be attractive and well
planned. A business and services park development could meet
the high standards that the City may set and as such be an
appropriate type of development for this entrance to the City.

LAFCO found that the City of Pleasanton has completed all applicable
environmental reviews and that the annexation to the City of Pleasanton
is required to obtain the full range of municipal services necessary
for the development of the privately owned property within the bound-
aries of said territory; and

on the basis of such findings and by Resolution No. 80-6, LAFCO condi-
tionally approved said application for Annexation No. 78 to the City
of Pleasanton on February 21, 1980, and, upon satisfaction of said
conditions, authorized the City to proceed with the annexation of said
territory. The tenms and conditions of approval are as follows:

a. Correction of the map and description as may be required
by the Director of Public Works, ex officio County Surveyor;

b. That the City and the County agree on the exchange of pro-
perty tax revenue.

A copy of said resolution is on file in the office of the City Clerk
and is hereby referred to for further particulars.
