CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-17 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING <br />INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION <br />NO. 81 PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT <br />OF 1977. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, <br />beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, <br />an affected city, as therein defined, may, by resolution <br />adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an <br />"Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation of <br />proceedings thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an <br />annexation proposal which contains territory proposed <br />to be annexed as part of said City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITy COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: , <br /> <br />Section 1. This C~ty ~oundil,f as the legislative body of an <br /> affeCted City, does hereby make a proposal for annexation <br /> pursuant'to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, and <br /> does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such act. <br /> <br />Section 2. The annexation shall consist of the following change in <br /> organization: <br /> <br />that 5 acres, more or less, located easterly <br />of the City limits, between Vineyard Avenue <br />and the Arroyo Del Valle, shall be changed from <br />unincorporated Alameda County lands to land <br />within the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more <br />specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 3. This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons <br /> for proposing this annexation are: <br /> <br />Annexation and the subsequent development of this <br />property would make available a substantial number <br />of "affordable housing" sites. In addition to <br />giving the City control of any development. The <br />property is also a part of the larger territory <br />which should ultimately be included in the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
