CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-11 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF RALPH AlDERSEN AND <br />ASSOCIATES TO RECRUIT CHIEF OF POLICE AND AUTHORIZING <br />CITY MANAGER TO SIGN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Police Chief Walt McCloud is scheduled to retire on <br /> May 1, 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />because of the short time available for recruitment <br />and the limited city staff, the assistance of a <br />professional recruiting firm is necessary to fill the <br />position of Police Chief; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council reviewed a report by the City Manager <br />as well as a proposed Professional Service Agreement <br />on January 19, 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost of such professional recruitment assistance <br /> would be $6,000.00. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorizes the City Manager to retain Ralph Anderson <br /> and Associates to assist the.City in the recruitment <br /> of a new Chief of police. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes the City Manager to sign the attached <br /> Professional Services Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 3: Authorizes amending the 1980-81 Operating Budget to <br /> include $6,000.00 for the cost of such recruitment. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 19, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers - Kephart and Wood <br />ABSENT: None~~ <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />H~vin~,~torney <br /> <br /> <br />
