This species has been <br /> documented as occurring near the <br /> Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreational <br /> Area, approximately one mile to the <br /> southeast. However, for aestivating CTS <br /> to make it to the project site from this <br /> location this species would need to cross <br /> nearly a mile of disturbed and developed <br /> areas including a major roadway, Stanley <br /> Blvd. Therefore, this species would not <br /> occur onsite. <br />Califomia red-]egged frog FT, CSC Rivers, creeks and stock Absent. The project site lacks suitable <br />(Rana aurora draytonii) ponds of the Sierra foothills habitat for the Califomia red-legged frog. <br /> and Bay Area, preferring Water-filled quarry pits [o the north and <br /> pools with overhanging east do not support habitat that is suitable <br /> ve elation. for this s ecies. <br />Alameda whipsnake FT, CT Closely associated with Absent. The project site lacks suitable <br />(Masticophis lateralis euryxanthus) chaparral and rock habitat for the Alameda whipsnake. <br /> outcro s. <br />Bald eagle CE Nests in the upper canopy Unlikely. Suitable habitat for the bald <br />(Haliaeetus leucocephalus) of large trees, especially eagle is absent from the site. However, <br /> conifers, near lakes, eagles have been know to breed <br /> reservoirs, and rivers. approximately 6.5 miles to the south, at <br /> Lake De] Valle and therefore, eagles <br /> could pass over the site en route to other <br /> suitable fora in habitat. <br />Peregrine falcon CE Individuals breed on cliffs Unlikely. Peregrine falcons will rarely to <br />(Falco peregrinus) in the Sierra or in coastal occasional]y forage in [his region of <br /> habitats; occurs in many Alameda County. As [he activity of <br /> habitats of the state during avian prey for [his species is relatively <br /> migration and winter. low, there is little chance that this species <br /> would be regularly attracted to the project <br /> site.
