Community Center/Youth Center <br />A complex to facilitate youth and other community social and institutional activities is <br />encouraged to be centrally-located adjacent to the Bernal Community Park. The Youth <br />Center building should be physically separated from the Community Center, but parking <br />areas should be shared. The Youth Center could accommodate City groups as well as <br />private youth clubs, such as the YMCA. <br />The Youth Center services and facilities might include: programs and special events; <br />food court/cafe; lounge and meeting space; rooms available for activities such as <br />computer games, music, aerobics and fitness, counseling and classrooms; and access to a <br />large multi-purpose room that could be shared with the Community Center. <br />The Community Center could accommodate adult and family programs as well as rooms <br />for City and community meetings and events. <br />Capital Cost <br />The City has estimated construction costs based on the above description of the <br />improvements to be $16.0 million per facility for a total of $32.0 million. <br />Estimated Annual Maintenance and Operating Costs <br />The table below presents the estimated annual maintenance and operating costs for the <br />Community Center and the Youth Center. <br />Bernal Park -Phase VI.Community/ Teen Center.
