Mr. Campbell stated that the Engiueer's estimate for this project was $31,500.- 00. He also stated that the project consists of full improvement to two unim- proved sections of Sunol Boulevard in the vicinity of Mission Park Subdivision and the resurfacing of the main traveled portion of Sunol Boulevard from Minnie Street to the vicinity of Freeway 680 Interchange. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 69-123, awarding the contract to A. Teichert and Son, in the amount of $30,800.00, for street improvements on Sunol Boulevard, be adopted. K~use for a portion of Amador Valley com~~ Park for raising..and harvesting crops Mr. Hirst reviewed the proposed lease agreement with the City and Mr. Roy Kruse. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 69-124, authorizing the execution of the Lease Agreement with Roy Kruse for a portion of Amador Valley Community Park for raising and harvesting crops, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Reid and Mayor Gerton Mr. Lowell Wendell, President of the Pleasanton Valley Homeowners Association, requested that a fire break be made between the property Mr. Kruse is farming and the back fences of the homes. He stated that one grass fire had already occurred in the area. He also requested that the chain link fence in that area be repaired that teenage children had damaged. Mr. Fales assured him that the teenagers would be controlled from causing any further damage to this fence. Mr. Hirst explained his letter to and answer from Senator Clark L- Bradley regarding Senate Bill 994, having to do with Park Dedication. Re: Participa- tion in the Rodeo Parade Mr. Fales read Mr. Foscalina's invitation to the City Council to attend the annual Rodeo Parage. Bay Fill LeRislation Mr. Fales suggested that this letter be discussed at the same time as when the City takes a position on this Legislation. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman Beratlis read a list of the outstanding accomplishments of the Pleasanton Jaycees and of the distinctive awards they have received. He recom- mended that the City of Pleasanton make formal commendation to the Pleasanton Jaycees for the outstanding achievements in the community. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that the City of Pleasanton present the Pleasanton Jaycees with the City Commendation Award for their outstanding achievements in the community. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmen Reid and Mayor Gerton Councilman Beratlis also stated that Mrs. Sharon McKinnon, of the Pleasanton Junior Women's Club, had been elected State President of the Junior Women's Clubs and also had received the safety award and the community achievement award.
