MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEbIBERS <br /> Councilmember Butler stated that Planning Commissioner Bill Jamieson was <br />seriously ill in the hospital because of a heart attack. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested that the fence behind Alpha Beta ~rket be <br />repaired. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated there were still some campaign signs left standing <br />in various parts of town from the previous election, and requested Council <br />agreement to advise the people involved to remove the signs. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer advised Councilmembers to make their reservations for the <br />Parhess Dinner as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated there would be a Sarah Coventry Golf Tournament at <br />Round Tree Club in September, and they had asked for Pleasanton information <br />and participation. This matter was given to Chamber of Commerce Liaison <br />Member Kephart to work out with the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested the City Manager and City Attorney to <br />prepare a report regarding what the powers and duties of the City Council, <br />the housing coPmission, and City staff would be if Council decided to estab- <br />lish a housing commission. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer asked staff to find out whether Alameda County Housing Authority <br />would consider taking over Komandorski Village. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated he did not feel the study was necessary. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />instructing the City Manager and City Attorney to prepare a report reviewing what <br />the powers and duties of the City Council, Housing Authority, and City staff would <br />be if the Council decided to establisha housing commission. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Brown presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer asked Mr. Brown to request that the LAVWMAmeeting time on <br />August 16th be changed so that Pleasanton representatives could attend. Dis- <br />cussion ensued regarding a third alternate on the LAVW}~ Board. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that <br />Councilmember Butler be appointed as the third alternate on the LA~e~ Board. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> ~.~yor Mercer recessed the meeting at 12:25 A.M., to an Executive Session to <br />discuss litigation. <br /> <br /> 12. 8/8/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
