289 <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr asked if the Parkside developer had indicated he might co- <br />operate in this project. Mr. Swanson advised he had not contacted Crocker Homes <br />relative to the matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sharrell Michelotti, ?8?3 Olive Court, Co-Chairperson of the Transportation <br />Subcommittee, and representing the Pleasanton Girls Soccer League, stated this pro- <br />posal will be very beneficial to the various sports groups in the community who use <br />the Sports Park, and it will increase safety at this location. <br /> <br /> Council directed staff to work with the developers of Hacienda Business Park and <br />come back to Council with plans for a pedestrian/bicycle bridge connecting Hacienda <br />to the Sports Park, and a contract providing for Prudential to install the bridge <br />with provision for reimbursement from the North Pleasanton assessment district, if <br />possibl~. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Hughes, 587 Touriga Court, addressed Council regarding the street nam- <br />ing policy of the City. He presented his letter dated November 21, 1983, outlining <br />various deficiencies found in the street names, and suggestions for the street naming <br />policy. After discussion, Council instructed staff to prepaPe a report regarding <br />this matter for review by Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curt Altschul, 6324 Calle Altamira, stated that he is in the process now of <br />gathering petition signatures for a referendum against the Hacienda Business Park <br />development plan. He asked at what step in the referendum process, if it is success- <br />ful, would the development plan go into limbo. He also asked if the signatures on <br />the petition could be turned in at two separate times. The City Attorney advised <br />that the General Plan will go back into limbo at the time of certification of the <br />signatures by Council. He stated that 30 days are allowed in which to gather the <br />appropriate number of signatures, 30 days are allowed for the signatures to be <br />checked for validity, then if successful, the petition must be certified by the City <br />Counci!~ Mr. MacDonald stated he would prefer the petition be presented at one time; <br />not two separate times. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bud Barlow, President of Alisal Improvement Club, 6723 Alisal Street, pre- <br />sented the ballot that will be mailed to all Happy Valley property owners regarding <br />annexation to the City. He advised that the votes will be counted on December 7th, <br />and he will advise Council and staff of the results of this ballot survey as soon <br />as possible thereafter. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Consider approval of the issue by the City of Pleasanton of revenue bonds in an <br />amount not to exceed $9~000~000 for the purpose of assisting in the financin~ of <br />the construction and development of Valley Plaza II Project at Valley Avenue west <br />of Santa Rita Road <br /> Mr. MacDonald advised that the necessary documentation has not been received <br />relative to this matter. He requested that the public hearing be held and closed, <br />and the item continued to the meeting of December 6th, at which time appropriate <br />documents will be in order. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Duncan Matteson, representing Valley Plaza II Project, stated he is avail- <br />able to answer any questions Council might have relative to the matter. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed, and continued the item to the <br />meeting of December 6, 1983, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br /> <br /> 4. 11/22/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
