"Commercial unit" means any occu- <br />pied premises specifically utilized for the <br />purpose of engaging in commercial activi- <br />ty as defined in Chapter 18.44 of this <br />Code. <br />B. "Industrial unit" means any occu- <br />pied premises specifically utilized for the <br />purpose of engaging in industrial activity <br />as defined in Chapter 18.48 of this Code. <br />C. "Refuse" means all putrescible and <br />nonputrescible, combustible and noncom- <br />bustible solid wastes, including, but not <br />limited to, animal and vegetable waste <br />resulting from the preparation, cooking <br />and consumption of food, garbage, rub- <br />bish, ashes, street cleaning, dead animals, <br />solid market and industrial waste, paper <br />wrappings, cigarettes, cardboard, tin cans, <br />yard clippings, leaves, wood, glass, bed- <br />ding, crockery and similar materials. <br />D. "Residential unit" means any occu- <br />pied premises having bathroom or toilet, <br />and kitchen plumbing facilities, suitable <br />for residential occupancy by a number of <br />persons living together as a single family, <br />including single-family dwellings, and <br />each group of occupied rooms constitut- <br />ing living quarters for a single family in <br />any duplex, triplex, apartment, court or <br />other multiple-dwelling structure, by <br />excluding any living or sleeping quarters <br />in hotels, apartments, roominghouses, <br />motels or auto courts where kitchen facili- <br />ties are not provided. (Prior Code <br />§ 4-4.04) <br />9.20.020 General Provisions: <br />Each and every "residential unit", <br />"commercial unit" and "industrial unit", as <br />defined in Section 9.20.010 of this Chap- <br />ter, shall have garbage service by the <br />refuse collector of the City. To provide <br />such service, the City may grant a fran- <br />chise for the exclusive right to collect, <br />transport and dispose of refuse produced <br />and accumulated within the limits of the <br />City as provided in this Chapter. (Prior <br />Code § 4-4.05) <br />9.20.030 Refuse Service: <br />A. The City Manager, or the Director <br />of Public Works, shall cause all buildings <br />or structures specified in Section 9.20.020 <br />of this Chapter within the corporate limits <br />of the City to be visited from time to <br />time, and the sanitary condition of the <br />buildings or structures examined to deter- <br />mine whether the provisions of this Chap- <br />ter are complied with.
