The proposed projeet is to construct an addition to <br />an existing hOlJse on Second Street that I think most people would judge to be excessively <br />large fbr its lot and for the surrounding neighbomood. Since I know that many people in <br />our neighborhood have concerns about the City anowing excessively large hOUSH to be <br />built, especially in the downtown arna, I wanted to provide you with some information on <br />this project... <br /> <br />Mr Dustin Boyt;e (owner of4546 Second Slt"eet) has SIIbmitted plaD$ to expand his hoose <br />:!rom an estimated <br /> <br />1600 sf to over 5000 sf: Not including in the sfis the aUic willi ten 11: ceiling <br /> <br />and the basement with g foot ceilings, m::lking Ibis a debatable 4 story house <br /> <br />As cOIll;emed homeowners and residents ofsecond street.. we believe the the <br /> <br />size of the proposal is excessive fur this property <br /> <br />The heigbtwiU be just1lflder 35 feet tall, and 36.4 wide on a lot that is only 44 feet wide, <br />making the hom:e and the garage lIS tall as the (flat part orlbe) Rose Hotels (rooi)l <br /> <br />We believe that 44 11: can Dot accommodate such an enormous sIructure and still keep the <br />.integrity of the neighborhood. . <br /> <br />Not only wil1lhe main house tower over the neighborhood but the garage will <br /> <br />000. The hou.~e will be to high and wide for Ibis property. <br /> <br />We encollr'<1gC expansion aod growth but it should make sense and this dose not <br /> <br />The proposal needs to be scaled down, and take !he size of!he pt"operty into consideration. <br /> <br />We ~ you to go and look at the property and then go to the :Rose Hotel and compare, do <br />you W8Ilt a house this tall and wi~ on such a small lot? <br />
