Performance Metrics <br />International Economic Development Council (IEDC) best practices for economic development <br />strategic planning have established the adoption of performance metrics and monitoring activities as <br />an industry standard.5 The Economic Development Division will work with other City department staff <br />to collect and review data on a regular basis. <br />Data may be tracked monthly or annually, subject to availability, according to the following <br />evaluation methodology: <br />The following “Economic Development Dashboard” model provides an example of the performance <br />metrics that may considered for ongoing monitoring and refinement of Pleasanton’s Economic <br />Development Strategic Plan Priorities. <br />2023-2024 <br />Net Change: <br />Sum of 2024 data values less the 2023 <br />baseline values. <br />2024 Results: <br />Determination if metrics are increasing <br />or decreasing from prior evaluation year <br />and if “meeting” or “exceeding” target <br />values – or – if attention is required. <br />2023 <br />Baseline: <br />data collected to date. <br />2024 Target <br />Performance: <br />recommendation for increase or <br />decrease from the baseline level. <br />2024 Update: <br />future data to be collected using the <br />same sources and methodologies as <br />in the baseline year. <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN FY2024-202826
