Create Business Roadmap to Provide Clear Pathway <br />for Zoning and Permitting <br />The City should communicate its commitment to the real <br />estate investment and business community by creating a <br />business roadmap to provide a clear pathway for zoning and <br />permitting. This could be accomplished during the General <br />Plan update by considering a zoning designation that would <br />allow for Life Sciences, such as the “Business Technology Park” <br />designation utilized by the City of South San Francisco. <br />Review Existing Local, Regional, Statewide, and <br />Federal Incentives Bi-Annually <br />Track existing local, regional and statewide incentives bi-annually <br />to continually assess the City’s competitive position. <br />Respond to RFIs and RFPs that Align with the City’s <br />Economic Development Strategic Plan <br />The City can leverage data collected through the BRE Program <br />and other activities to continually improve the City’s readiness <br />to respond to high value Requests for Information (RFIs) and <br />Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by public and private <br />sector organizations. <br />Deliver and Support Regional Networking Events for <br />Businesses/Target Sectors and Developers/Brokers <br />The City should continue to support business networking <br />events with a focus on elevating the profile of major projects. <br />The City should link economic development-related marketing <br />and branding efforts to these events and maintain ongoing <br />messaging around the City’s commitment to advancing <br />major projects. <br />KEY INITIATIVES <br />5.1 <br />5.2 <br />5.3 <br />5.4 <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN FY2024-202824
