SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL <br />13 <br /> <br />24. Are there budget proposals or changes pertaining to the Pioneer Cemetery? <br />A. Nothing is currently being changed at the cemetery. Per direction, an <br />operational study has been completed to limit the General Fund subsidy for <br />cemetery operations and will be presented to the City Council for direction at <br />the July 15, 2025 meeting. Cemetery operations remain fully active. Following <br />the Council's direction, no changes will take place until January 2026. <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission heard this item for initial direction on <br />May 8, 2025: <br />https://pleasantonca.portal.civicclerk.com/event/468/files/agenda/1021. The <br />consultant identified the most cost-effective model of service as pausing <br />casket burial sales and focusing on cremains, eliminating the specialized <br />equipment associated with casket burials. <br />In the meantime, staff is looking for more cost-effective models for the <br />cemetery’s current service contracts from July 1 to December 31, 2025. <br />25.
