Page 3 of 3 <br />OUTREACH <br />Notice of this item will be shared with the Veterans groups in the community. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This item aligns with the ONE Pleasanton Goal - Funding Our Future: Fiscal Sustainability. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The total estimated cost of cemetery operations includes staff salaries, contract fees for grave <br />digging and grounds maintenance, and utilities. The proposed updates to the fee schedule <br />offset direct fee increases from the contractor who digs the graves and maintains the cemetery <br />grounds, and limit liabilities assumed from the pre-need sales of services. These fee increases <br />are not anticipated to have a significant financial impact on the City budget. The Cemetery <br />operates as an enterprise fund, with operating revenues mostly offsetting operating <br />expenditures. The City’s General Fund provides a $50,000 annual subsidy to the Cemetery <br />Fund.
