The East Pleasanton area was historically zoned light industrial, providing
local jobs and a steady revenue base without the high service costs of
residential development. The original proposal for senior housing on this site
was a much lower -impact concept—one that aligned better with the
community's needs and the City's financial realities.
Before moving forward, I urge the Council to ask:
What is the true cost to current residents?
And what happens if we simply keep this land as light industrial and benefit
from the original land -use vision instead?
Pleasanton doesn't need to expand at any cost. We need to grow wisely,
protecting both our finances and our natural resources.
Thank you for your continued work with residents to understand our concerns
on this and other upcoming development proposed for the area and its impact
on those who reside here.
Sincerely,
Kelly Cousins
