4-06. Workers' Compensation: (a) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1860 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor's attention is directed to the requirement that in accordance with the provisions of Section 3700 of the California Labor Code, every contractor will be required to secure the payment of compensation of his or her employees. (b) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1861 of the California Labor Code, each Contractor to whom a public works contract is awarded shall sign and file with the awarding body the following certification prior to performing the work of the contract: "I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code which require every employer to be insured against liability for worker's compensation or to undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that code, and I will comply with such provisions before commencing the performance of the work of this contract." 4-07. Prime Contractor Job Site Postings. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771.4, Contractor is required to post all job site notices prescribed by law or regulation. The contractor shall comply with all applicable provisions of section 16451 (d) of California Labor Code relating to the posting of job site notices prescribed by regulation. 4-08. Insurance Requirements for Contractors: BIDDER'S ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO THE INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS BELOW. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT BIDDERS CONFER WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE INSURANCE CARRIERS OR BROKERS TO DETERMINE IN ADVANCE OF BID SUBMISSION THE AVAILABILITY OF INSURANCE CERTIFICATES AND ENDORSEMENTS AS PRESCRIBED AND PROVIDED HEREIN. IF AN APPARENT LOW BIDDER FAILS TO COMPLY STRICTLY WITH THE INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS, THAT BIDDER MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM AWARD OF THE CONTRACT. Contractor shall procure and maintain for the duration of this contract, including one year maintenance period, contract insurance against claims for injuries to persons or damages to property which may arise from or in connection with the performance of the work hereunder by the Contractor, the Contractor's agents, representatives, employees or subcontractors. The cost of such insurance shall be included in the Contractor's bid. (a) Minimum Scope of Insurance Coverage shall be at least as broad as: 1. Insurance Services Office form number CG 00 01 (ED. 1/96) covering Commercial General Liability and name the City as additional insured. 2.
