GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />Unless otherwise stated in these Contract Documents or deemed inapplicable by the <br />Engineer, the General Provisions of the State of California Standard Specifications are <br />hereby incorporated with the following General Provisions. <br />SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS AND TERMS <br />As used in these Contract Documents unless the context otherwise requires, the following <br />terms have the meanings indicated: <br />Addenda: Are written or graphic instruments, clarifications or corrections, issued <br />prior to the execution of the contract, which modify or interpret the Contract <br />Documents. <br />Bidder: Any individual, partnership or corporation submitting a Bid Proposal for <br />the work described in the Contract Documents. <br />Bidding Documents: Includes the Notice to Bidders, the Bid Proposal, Bid Bond, <br />Contractor's Information Forms including the Contractor's past experience, <br />financial responsibility and Subcontractors, and Instructions to Bidders. <br />Com: The City of Pleasanton. <br />City Standard Specifications and Standard Details: Means the July 2024 edition <br />of the City's Standard Specifications and Standard Details. <br />Contractor: Any individual, partnership or corporation that has entered into a <br />Contract with the City to perform the work described in the Contract Documents. <br />Contract Documents: Includes the Bidding Documents, the Award and Execution <br />of Contract Requirements, the Contract, the Labor and Material Bond, the <br />Performance Bond, the Maintenance Bond, the City General Provisions, the <br />Special Provisions, Project Plans, the City of Pleasanton Standard Specifications, <br />and Standard Details, the State Standard Specifications and Plans, all Addenda <br />issued by the City and all Change Orders executed by the City. <br />En ig neer: The City Engineer of the City of Pleasanton, acting either directly or <br />through properly authorized agents, such agents acting within the scope of the <br />particular duties entrusted to them. <br />General Provisions: Those Specifications that apply to all projects unless <br />specifically modified by Special Provisions. <br />Project Plans: Drawings specifically prepared for a particular project. <br />Valley Avenue Soundwall Repair Project (REBID), CIP No. 18437 <br />Page 33 <br />
