RESOLUTION NO. 2025-034 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO ADOPT <br /> RATES FOR SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, AND ORGANIC <br /> MATERIALS COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, on March 20, 2018, the City Council voted to approve and entered into a <br /> franchise agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Garbage Service Inc. for <br /> Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials collection services; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 7, 2022, the City Council voted to approve an amended franchise <br /> agreement between the City of Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. to comply with California state <br /> law SB 1383 requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 9.20.090 of the City of Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code.. rates for franchise services shall be set by a resolution approved by the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. shall conduct all billing related to collection, <br /> transportation, recycling and disposal of said Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials.. and Organic <br /> Materials in strict accordance with rates listed in this Resolutions; and <br /> WHEREAS, setting the Vehicle Impact Mitigation Fee established in the Franchise <br /> Agreement Section 7.2, in the amount of $2,810,000 to include in the cost-based Rate <br /> Adjustment, effective date July 1, 2025; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Index-Based Rate Adjustment methodology the rate <br /> increase for rate period Eight is 5 percent (5%). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: The fee schedule set forth in Resolution 24-028 is hereby rescinded. <br /> SECTION 2: The rates for the collection, transport, and disposal of Solid Waste, <br /> Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials from the City of Pleasanton for Commercial/Multi- <br /> Family Services, Residential Services and for Transfer Stations Services, are revised as of July <br /> 1, 2025, as outlined in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 3: Rates will go into effect on July 1, 2025. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on June 17, 2025. <br /> {Signatures on next page} <br />
