THE CITY OF
W 1 . m: m in M1 1 111
PLEASANTON,
Deferred Maintenance -
Asset Management Plan
Project Number: 26489
Department: Public Works
Project Phase: Planning
Total Budget: $30,290,000
CIP Rating Score: NSA
Project Description:
Annual allocation for managing and prioritizing main-
tenance and repairs to aging infrastructure and assets
that have been deferred due to limited resources. Insuf-
ficient resources have negatively impacted the City's
ability to properly invest in facilities and other infrastruc-
ture used to serve the community. Community assets,
such as buildings and facilities, parks and medians,
storm drain systems, police and fire vehicles, equip-
ment, information technology, streetlights, traffic signals,
streets and roads, sound walls, and traffic poles, are
significantly underfunded. Annual allocation will help to
fund critical priority projects.
Project Funding
Miscellaneous CIP 201 - $6,221,000
- General Fund
Project Justification:
Internal assessment estimated approximately $900
million in CIP and Repair & Replacement needs over
the next decade to maintain the existing infrastruc-
ture and other assets in a state of good repair. With
the completion of the Asset Management Plan at the
end of 2025, the funding gap for deferred mainte-
nance and critical projects is expected to be signifi-
cant, as previously identified by staff over two years
ago. Aging community assets, such as facilities, if not
repaired and replaced, will deteriorate and become
unusable to the community. Aging infrastructure may
also pose significant risks and liabilities for the City.
$6,141,000 $6,060,000 $5,976,000
$5,892,000
City of Pleasanton Capital Improvement Program • FY 2025/26 - FY 2029/30 53
