THE CITY OF <br /> °°° "is CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASAN N <br /> May 17, 2022 <br /> City Council <br /> TITLE: RATIFY APPOINTMENT TO TRI-VALLEY CONSERVANCY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Tri-Valley Conservancy's mission is to "promote economically sustainable vineyards <br /> and orchards, and increase permanently protected, biologically diverse open spaces." Its <br /> goals include safeguarding urban growth boundaries, conducting studies to support <br /> agricultural sustainability, and engaging the next generation with the outdoors. <br /> The City of Pleasanton has a designated representative on the Tri-Valley Conservancy <br /> Board of Directors. The membership term is four years. The City's previous representative, <br /> Robert Gilham, has resigned from the position. The City solicited applications to fill the <br /> unscheduled vacancy and one application was received from Louis Astbury. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> The Council is asked to ratify the Mayor's appointment of Louis Astbury to the Tri-Valley <br /> Conservancy Board of Directors for a term beginning May 17, 2022, and ending April 30, <br /> 2026.
