1703-06 <br />AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION OF GRADE SEPARATIONS, <br />ALTERATION OF GRADE CROSSINGS, RELOCATION OF RAILROAD FACILITIES, <br />AND RELATED CONVEYANCES OF PROPERTY AND/OR INTERESTS THEREIN <br />NILES-PLEASANTON TRACK <br />CONSOLIDATION PROJECT <br />SCPNi � <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made this � day of March, 1982, by and between the <br />SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, a corporation, hereinafter <br />called SP; THE WESTERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY, a corporation, hereinafter <br />called WP (SP and WP sometimes also being referred to collectively as <br />"Railroads"); the CITY OF PLEASANTON (City), a municipal corporation of <br />the State of California; and the COUNTY OF ALAMEDA (County). The City <br />of Pleasanton and the County of Alameda are herein sometimes referred to <br />as the "local agencies." <br />RECITALS: <br />1. Local agencies propose to cooperate with Railroads to consolidate <br />the main line tracks of the SP and WP, from Niles Junction to Lathrop, <br />San Joaquin County, into a single track system, with trains of SP to <br />operate over existing WP facilities under a trackage rights agreement as <br />shown on De Leuw, Cather & Company Drawing entitled, "Schematic Track <br />Diagram, Prop. Joint Trackage and Consolidation of SPTCo. and WPRR from <br />Niles to Pleasanton," marked "Exhibit A," and with certain details for <br />track connections delineated in "Exhibit B," both attached hereto and <br />made parts hereof. <br />Local agencies propose to construct or reconstruct underpasses at <br />separated grades beneath the main line of the WP at the following loca- <br />tions, as described and shown on Exhibits attached hereto and by this <br />reference made a part hereof: <br />1 <br />
