Attachment 4 <br /> o Provide training information & updates to all employees about water <br /> conservation and the City's current water reduction stage so that <br /> employees can effectively respond to public questions, as well as reduce <br /> their own water use. Modes of internal communication not yet identified— <br /> likely via email. <br /> Additional community outreach modalities were identified: <br /> • Forums: Regular community forums to provide updates, useful resources, and <br /> answer questions. Incorporate an educational mini-workshop component with <br /> different themes (i.e. water-efficient landscaping and plumbing). <br /> • City Council/Commission Meetings: <br /> o At each City Council meeting have a slide on the screen (until a power <br /> point runs)with a tip about water conservation. Tips can also be printed <br /> and be available at the back table of Council meetings and at other <br /> commission meetings where people pick up speaker cards. <br /> o Provide a conservation tip for the councilmember who gets to make <br /> remarks at each meeting. <br /> o Provide water conservation information to each City commissioner and <br /> committee member as part of a meeting packet's extra materials. <br /> • Signage: <br /> o Attractively designed park and median signage with the dual purpose of <br /> 1) informing the public of why dry conditions are noticeable, and 2) <br /> educate the public on how they benefit from the City's conservation <br /> efforts. <br /> o Signage/displays at.City buildings and public restrooms (the City offers <br /> free lavatory water conservation signage currently), <br /> o Signs on the inside of doors of each toilet stall in all city facilities with <br /> conservation tips. <br /> o Signs with cons_ervation tips at city facilities where people pause/wait, <br /> such as lobby seating at 200 Old Bernal, self-check kiosks at library, <br /> Firehouse box office, aquatic center office, computer terminals at library, <br /> exterior of snack shack at Sports Park, etc. <br /> o Signs at Wheels bus stops <br /> • Press releases <br /> • Editorials/Water conservation video <br /> • Incorporating water conservation theme/education into upcoming library <br /> programs/events <br /> • Local Girl Scout members are working with the City's Water Sustainability <br /> Division to develop a website of their own, focusing on water conservation <br /> education to market to their peer group. Utilizing OSC, Police, and/or Fire in <br /> outreach <br /> City of Pleasanton I City Wide Drought Action Strategies 3 <br />
