Attachment 4 <br /> Outreach <br /> Utilizing technology to help direct communication throughout the community is an important <br /> aspect of the outreach efforts to come. Additionally, providing the community the ability to <br /> provide input to further water conservation efforts was recognized as valuable. The DAC <br /> identified the need for specific outreach communication to the following community groups as <br /> beneficial strategies in achieving short-term water reduction: <br /> • Pleasanton Unified School District <br /> o Utilizing the City Liaison Committee to communicate with the PUSD on <br /> water reduction needs. <br /> o Regular communication and assistance to PUSD maintenance staff. <br /> o Possible assemblies/presentations to the student body to provide <br /> education on the importance of conservation and ways conserve water at <br /> home. <br /> o Inquire about the possibility of adding water conservation tips on school <br /> exterior message boards during summer. <br /> • Business.Community <br /> o Employing City staff relationships with property managers and business <br /> groups such as the Chamber and Pleasanton Downtown.Association to <br /> provide regular updates on the City's water reduction message as it <br /> evolves. <br /> o Generating routine communication to the business community. (Through <br /> some format to be identified). <br /> o Further communication development with: <br /> • Hacienda Business Park <br /> • Local hotels <br /> • Stoneridge Mall <br /> • Fairgrounds <br /> • California Center <br /> • Residential Community <br /> o Routine and consistent messaging through various outlets:. <br /> • City website & City newsletter <br /> • Landscape & Lighting Maintenance District mailers <br /> • Geological Hazard Abatement District mailers <br /> • Community Services Activity Guide for summer will now include <br /> drought awareness information <br /> • Firehouse calendar <br /> • Social media <br /> • Email and water bill messaging <br /> o TV30 coverage <br /> • City Employees <br /> City of Pleasanton I City Wide Drought Action Strategies 2 <br />
