(925)449-2684 (800)884.8119 <br /> P.O. box 2190 Email: mall@trivalieyhaven.org <br /> Livermore, CA 94550 Web Site: www.trlvalleyhaven.org <br /> Letter of Intent to Participate <br /> Regional Refrigeration Project <br /> November 9, 2011 <br /> The thy of Pleasanton,Open Heart Kitchen and Tri-Valley Haven are partnering to establish a <br /> Regional Refrigeration Project that allows for Tri-Valley based food pantries the opportunity to <br /> store food in a centrally located area, thus increasing service capacity, allowing for quicker <br /> distribution of supplies to food pantries and the ability to preserve donated food for a longer period <br /> of time. <br /> This project is an outcome of the Pleasanton Human Services Commission's discussions with local <br /> non-profit food organizations that stated one of their most prevalent challenges is the lack of food <br /> storage space in the Trl-Valley. <br /> The storage units will be located at 3333 Busch Road at the City's Operation Services Center. Three <br /> separate units(freezer, dry storage and refrigeration) have been specked out to meet the needs of <br /> the agencies. There are several components to this project including site preparation, fencing, and <br /> the purchase of the three units. It is estimated that the total cost of this project is $108,390. To <br /> date, $51,973 has been raised through grants and donations from the City of Pleasanton, Open <br /> Heart Kitchen and Safeway.
