Resolution No. 96-89 <br /> Page 2 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the Initiative Ordinances attached to <br /> this Resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 9280 of the Elections Code specifies that the City Council may direct the <br /> City Clerk to transmit an initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an impartial <br /> analysis of the measure; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 9282 of the Elections Code specifies that the legislative body, or any <br /> member or members of the legislative body authorized by that body, may file a <br /> written argumatt for any city measure; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 9285 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1: That two City Council sponsored i nitiatives, one regarding the Urban Growth <br /> Boundary and one regarding the rnaxitnum number of housing unite at buildout, be <br /> placed on the November 5, 1996 General Election, and the Initiative Ordinances <br /> are attached to this resolution. The measures shall be designated by letter by the <br /> Alameda County Registry <br /> Section Z: The ballot language shall be as follows: <br /> As to the Urban+ Growth Boun Initia+i+ <br /> Shall the Pleasanton Urban Growth Boundary Initiative be adopted to <br /> require voter approval of all but minor changes to the City's Urban Growth <br /> Yes No <br /> As to the Residential Buildout Initiative <br /> Shall the Pleasanton Residential Buildout Initiative be adopted which <br /> provides that the maximum number of residential units at buildout shall not <br /> exceed 29,000 units and cannot be changed except by a vote of the people? <br /> Yes No <br />
