f , <br />Treasurer:--,--Showing that the dater Deposit Fund had $61.00 per last report <br />and that 05.00 had been drawn leaving 56.00 in the Water Deposit Fund. <br />The Curb and'Gutter Revolving Fund had $132.85 since the last report and <br />that $493.68 had been collected during the month -making a total of $626.53, <br />less, amount of warrants issued $228.28,r leaving a cash balance in the <br />Curb and Gutter Revolving Fund.,of $398.25.: The Treasurer had $8236.95 <br />per last report and collections had amounted to $13561:66 making a total <br />of $9593.61, less amount of warrants issued, $2070-�0-95, leaving $7522.66 <br />balance in the hands of the Treasurer.., , <br />City Judge: -- Report showed that nothing had been received during the month <br />of July as regards fines etc. <br />Health Officer:-- Showing,activities during the month of July, 1935 and also <br />suggestions made. <br />Fire Chief:--Showing activities. dur inng the month of July, 1935 and also <br />n <br />making suggestion s and recommendations. <br />Milk Inspector: -- Showing Laboratory Report of Milk samples for the month <br />of July, 1935. <br />Building Inspector; -- Showing that one .building permit and two electrical <br />permits had been granted during the month of July, 1935. <br />The reports were referred to the finance committee for exmaination and <br />report. <br />The following communications were then read: <br />July 8th -- Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, regarding the placing of an <br />anchor guy on Second Street. <br />July 10th -- League of California Municipalities, concerning newest developments <br />in the California work relief program. <br />July 11th- -City Attorney, Walter T. Nilson, advising with reference to the signing <br />of the duplicate copy of the lice e from the Western Pacific Railroad <br />Company and advising that it was opinion that the "Railroad <br />Company has a right to insist upon the execution of a license of <br />this kind, as the ditch is running over their property and they <br />would have the right to hold back at least some of the water that <br />flows through it'! "The terms and conditions c onta ined in the <br />license are those which are ususally contained in such instruments <br />as a matter of form, and I see no objection to your signing these <br />agreements as Mayor of the Town." <br />July 11th - -City Attorney, Walter T. Nilson;; advising with reference to the <br />proposed agreement for Street acid Highway Lighting submitted by <br />the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and covering street lighting <br />on. the streets of the Town of Pleasanton for a period of five years. <br />Mr. Nilson advised that he believed that "the power of the City <br />Council to enter into this-agreement for this period of time can <br />be questionedt" In view of the fact that the agreement would <br />extend beyond the present terms of all of the members of the Council. <br />He suggested that a contract'of one or two years be entered into. <br />July 12th -- League of California Municipalities, expressing appreciation of <br />municipality joining with it in the,work which it is doing.' <br />California Municipalities, inviting Pleasanton to allow <br />July 15th -- League of p � <br />it to represent it before the State Board of Equalization in <br />Oakland in connection with the hearing on the valuations of the <br />property of Public Utilities. The communication se.t forth that <br />in all probability the valuations now set up would be given a fmrt.her <br />cut and that proper representation would save considerable as regards <br />cuts to the various cities of the state. The League solicited a <br />contribution of $10.00 from Pleasanton for representing it. <br />July 29th - -Works Progress Administration with regards to WPA project proposals. <br />August 2nd--Works Progress Administration inviting the City Clerk to attend a <br />meeting at the Court House on Tuesday afternoon, August 6th at' <br />2:30 P.M. <br />August 2nd- -Henry A. Cook, with regards to insurance on the new fire truck and <br />asking that his agency be considered. <br />The Coiineilreceived an application for a dance permit from the Pleasanton <br />Junior Chamber of Commerce-for a dance to be held at the I.•D.E.S. Hall on August <br />24th. There were no obfections - from the Council to same being granted. <br />The Clerk then read the following memorandums from the State Board of <br />Equalization with reference to licenses recently issued by the Board: <br />
