MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 15, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. and Councilmember <br />McGovern led in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments: Councilmember McGovern gave the following introductory <br />comments: The Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative has unveiled a new <br />designation -organization of Character - to recognize companies that have joined the citywide <br />effort to create a community culture of goodwill; registration is now open for the 580/680 Senior <br />Game hosted by Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon; the City of <br />Pleasanton's Paratransit Service has expanded its Downtown Route to include Wal-Mart, <br />Stoneridge Shopping Center, ValleyCare Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente <br />Roll Cail <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio (via teleconference), McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, <br />Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />City Manager Fialho referred to Item 4 and reported staff was removing it and making <br />adjustments to the Master Fee Schedule that will appear on the August 19, 2008 agenda. Item <br />10 will also be removed and placed on the August 19, 2008 agenda. Item 18 is an appeal; the <br />appellants have asked that item to be continued to August 19, 2008. He said June 26, 2008 <br />minutes are being pulled for adjustments. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />Approved as submitted regular meeting minutes of June 17, 2008 and pulled special <br />meeting minutes of June 26, 2008 <br />City Attorney <br />2. Adopted Resolution No. 08-222 certifying taxes and assessments concerning Proposition <br />218 <br />City Manaoer <br />3. Approved plans and specifications, reviewed bids, awarded and authorized the City <br />Manager to execute a construction contract to W.A. Thomas Company Inc. in the amount <br />of $8,400,318 for the construction of the Pleasanton Firehouse Arts Center, CIP No. <br />038011; approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a professional services <br />agreement with Kleinfelder Inc., in the amount of $175,949 for geotechnical and special <br />inspection consultant services; and appropriated $4,829,153 from the Capital <br />Improvement Program Reserve to CIP No. 038011 <br />
